PUPILS, parents and staff at St Augustine’s Priory in Ealing are delighted after another set of outstanding GCSE examination results.

This year, 42 students were entered for 410 examinations across 22 GCSE subjects .

Three-quarters of Spanish entries were A* or A, 66% of physics and 53% of biology.

A total of 55% of entries overall delivered A* or A grades, with 23% of girls achieving straight As or A*s.

Two students, Ridhi Thukral and Katherine Williams, achieved a full set of 10 A* grades.

Ridhi recently won a 2014 St Augustine’s sixth-form academic scholarship, as well as winning The T S Eliot Prize Shadowing Scheme, run by the Poetry Book Society.

The results are a record for the school, following last year’s achievement in which it was ranked second best performing school in Ealing.

Sarah Raffray, head teacher since August last year, said: “As always, these excellent achievements reflect the hard work of staff and pupils.

"There have been many outstanding individual achievements, but evidence of progress of each girl and [the knowledge] that she has achieved her very best across a wide breadth of subjects is the most rewarding aspect.

“We look forward to seeing them flourish further in our sixth-form as they take on the challenge of a wide breadth of A and A/S level exam preparation.”
