Staff and students at Wimbledon College are celebrating their GCSE results today.

A total of 75 per cent of pupils at the school in Edge Hill, Wimbledon, achieved five A* to C grades including in English and maths.

A statement from the school said 92 per cent of the boys made expected progress or better in English and a total of 82 per cent made expected progress or better in maths.

The school said there have been a number of outstanding individual successes topped by Christian Repole who achieved 11 A*s and two A grades.

Etienne Cousin, Callum Cronin and Conor Ricardson all achieved 11 A* or A qualifications with a further nine boys achieving 10 A* or A grades.

Headteacher Adrian Laing said: “We are extremely pleased with the results this year in what has been a period of change with regard to GCSE examinations.

“The boys have made considerable efforts and maintained a very positive attitude to their studies. “This is reflected in their 100 per cent attendance at all examinations in the summer as well as their results.

“I would like to congratulate them all on their well deserved results. We look forward to welcoming many of them back into our sixth form.”
