Year 11 pupils nervously awaited their GCSE results this morning.

Leading up to results day, Ofqual had predicted increased "volatility" in grades due to government syllabus shake-ups.

Results from Coombe Girls' School show more than a third of all grades were an A or an A*.

The star pupil was Caitlin Dimbleby, who scored 10 A* grades and one A.

Twins Nadia and Yasmine Barakat notched up 17 A* grades and 3 As between them.

Headteacher Deborah Walls said: "I am extremely pleased that the volatility reported in the press has not been evident in our results.

"It’s truly inspiring to see our students achieve these impressive results that reward their hard work and determination."
