A man has died after being struck by a train last night.
Emergency services were called to St James Street station in Walthamstow, on the Overground line between Chingford and Liverpool Street, shortly before 11pm following reports of a person on the track.
The man, who is yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "Our officers were called to St James Street railway station at 10.45pm on Monday after a report that a man had been struck by a train.
"Colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service also attended the incident, and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and inform their family.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
