All waste and recycling collections in Bexley next week will be one day later than normal.

From the week beginning August 25 all collections will be picked up one day late due to the August Bank Holiday.

Normal service will resume on September 1.

A spokesman for Bexley Council said: "Please place your waste and recycling out for collection at the front edge of your property at 6.45am."

Council Reuse and Recycling Centres at Thames Road, Crayford and Maidstone Road, Foots Cray, will be open throughout the holiday period from 7.30am to 4pm.

The council spokesman added: "Our mini recycling centres throughout the borough are particularly busy over holiday periods.

"If the banks are full please take your recycling home, they will be emptied as soon as possible.

Please remember to use all of your recycling containers at home. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

If you have any queries regarding these arrangements or your waste or recycling remains is not collected, call the Contact Centre on 020 8303 7777.
