A mental health charity has received more than £500,000 for a Lewisham and Bromley project.

Mental health charity Bromley and Lewisham Mind will receive the money over three years for a project aimed at supporting 14 to 25-year-olds.

The charity will be working with communities to deliver the project across the two boroughs along with Richmond, Harrow and Hackney.

It will deliver sessions focused on developing and improving resilience and mental wellbeing. Experienced volunteers will run the sessions that will take place in many venues including colleges and youth centres.

Minister for Care and Support Norman Lamb has said: "These projects play a crucial role in supporting people, their families and carers."

While the recruitment of the staff to manage the project continues, recruitment of volunteers will begin in September.
