A supermarket has raised more than £350 for a local charity.

Asda, in Chase Side, Southgate, raised £381.50 in his month long bucket collection to support the Butterfly AVM charity.

Set up by Enfield schoolgirl Nikki Christou, the charity helps fund research in to arterio-venous malformation (AVM), which causes an abnormal connection between arteries and veins and can lead to serious bleeding around the face.

Diagnosed three years ago, Ms Christou, of Station Road, in Winchmore Hill, has raised more than £100,000 for AVM research and has been awarded the Diana Award for inspiring the lives of others and the WellChild inspirational child award in the past 12 months.
