Police are hunting a man who attacked a shopkeeper with a belt after being accused of shoplifting,
Suspect 154285 is wanted for committing greivous bodily harm (GBH) at Londis in St Andrews Road, Walthamstow, on June 4 at 8.30pm.
The group of four men entered the off-licence and headed towards the drinks shelf when the shopowner's nephew said he saw one of them put a can of drink in his pocket.
After the group were challenged, they left the shop but the owner and his son then confronted the group outside.
The man pictured then took off his belt and swung it at the owner's face, causing several cuts to his left cheek.
The CCTV image has been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify potential perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.
