St Peter’s Hospital has teamed up with children’s charity Momentum to improve the healing environment on the children’s cancer ward.

Momentum supports children with cancer in the south west London and Surrey area and they hope to raise £14,000 for a new chillout zone on Little Oaks ward at the Chertsey hospital.

Bianca Effemey, director at Momentum, hopes to replicate the work the charity has achieved at Kingston Hospital, where it spent £600,000 refurbishing the paediatric department.

Lizzie Sturt, paediatric oncology clinical nurse specialist at St Peter’s Hospital, said: "I am passionate about improving our children’s environment here at St Peter’s and I know Momentum can help.

"The chillout zone would be a space where our young patients could relax and it would hopefully feel more like a home environment than a hospital."
