Greenwich Council is introducing temporary parking restrictions as the borough prepares to welcome hundreds of thousands for next month's Tall Ships Festival.
The council is extending the hours of operation for some controlled parking zones in Westcombe, Charlton, Woolwich Dockyard, Woolwich Arsenal, Woolwhich B and Woolwich Market Street, so that residents will still be able to access their local parking.
Existing permits of residents and businesses in these areas will cover them for the extra hours or days and they will also be sent permits for visitors – which will be delivered by August 25.
For residents and businesses between Charlton and Woolwich Dockyard zones, the council is setting up a temporary controlled parking zone.
Council cabinet member for regeneration and transport Councillor Danny Thorpe said: "These measures are very straightforward and we’re introducing them to make sure residents and businesses will be impacted as little as possible by the Tall Ships Festival.
"We very much hope our residents and businesses won’t experience too much inconvenience."
If any resident or business has not been sent their permit by August 25 they should contact the council’s parking service on 020 8921 6131 or email parking@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
