The new downskeeper hut on Epsom Downs has been formally opened.
It will serve as an office, changing area, and as shelter in bad weather.
The original hut had stood on the downs since the 1960’s, but after decades in a highly exposed position, the wooden structure was demolished earlier this year.
The new building was opened by the chairman of the Epsom and Walton Downs Conservators, Jean Smith, alongside the mayor of Epsom and Ewell, Councillor Robert Foote.
It was funded in equal share by Epsom & Walton Downs Conservators and Epsom Downs Racecourse.
