A host of internationally acclaimed artists will take to the stage this afternoon as part of a two-day festival.
American super group Sister Sledge will headline the Chingford Big Weekender at Ridgeway Park in Old Church Road today from after 6pm.
The free festival will also feature performances from Gwen Dickey of the 1970 soul group Rose Royce, and Soul II Soul, who have replaced R&B singer Alexander O'Neill.
Waltham Forest council was informed this week by Mr O'Neal's management team that he had to cancel his performance due to a recent fall.
Acts are set to perform world-famous tracks including 'We are Family', 'Car Wash' and 'Back to Life'.
Local artists such as Walthamstow's Tina T and Chingford's acclaimed street dance group Celebro Dance will take to the stage prior to the main line-up.
The entertainment, hosted by DJ Daddy Ernie, will start from around 2pm and finish at 7pm.
An inflatable sports arena featuring table tennis, football, boxing, a bungee run and bouncy castles will be set up tomorrow.
