The date for an annual family fun day to help raise money for the battle against cancer has been announced.

The annual Relay for Life Harrow Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday September 6, at the Bannister Sports Centre, in Uxbridge Road, raising money for Cancer Research UK from 12.30pm to 5pm.

People are invited to show their support to those taking part in the relay which will see more than 15 teams in a continuous relay around the running track at the sports ground.

The fun day will include bouncy castles, steam train rides, line dancing, stall games and music.

Last year the event raised more than £50,000 for the charity with teams taking it in turns round the track for a total of 21 hours.

Later in the evening from 8pm people will be able remember a loved one who may have been affected by cancer at the Candle of Hope Ceremony.
