A rugby club which suffered from flooding last winter will be given a free makeover.

Elmbridge Eagles Rugby League Club, in Esher, will see their facilities transformed on Saturday, August 9, after being selected as the winner by Selco Builders Warehouse.

Following flooding at the start of the year, the club were left with no bar, kitchen, changing rooms or storage cupboards and had inadequate internal doors.

The builder’s merchant will transform the clubs facilities and provide the materials as part of its sponsorship of the London Broncos.

Work on the day will include painting, digging, hanging new doors, fixing the skirting boards and installing new benches in the dressing rooms.

Helen Cooper, marketing director of Selco Builders Warehouse, said: "Elmbridge Eagles is a popular and well-run club, but they’ve had some terrible luck with the flooding.

"Hopefully this donation will help them get back on their feet and will improve the facility for the use of hundreds of people in the community."
