The former bakery where teenager Jimmy Mizen was killed went up in flames last night, damaging the deli and a flat above.

Fire crews were called to The Kitchen in Burnt Ash Hill at around 8.50pm.

Twenty-one firefighters from Lewisham, Greenwich, East Greenwich and Forest Hill stations battled the blaze for just under an hour.

A spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade said: "Half of the restaurant was destroyed by the blaze with some minor damage caused to the first floor flat above.  There were no injuries."

The Kitchen is located on the site of the former Three Cooks Bakery, where 16-year-old Jimmy Mizen was murdered in May 2008.

The cause of the fire under investigation.
