A dazzling musical is set to bring to life characters from the pages of books by Dr Seuss this month.

Horton the Elephant and the Cat in the Hat are among the beloved characters to appear in the show, Seussical the Musical, at the Leatherhead Theatre.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts is bringing together performing arts students from around the world to rehearse and perform in its summer showcase.

Stagecoach says: "This show recreates the legendary world of Dr Seuss and is a bright and colourful celebration for all the family."

The musical follows the adventures of Horton who hears voices coming from a speck of dust one day.

He soon discovers that it contains the smallest planet in the universe inhabited by a tiny creatures known as Whos.

The showcase production will be directed by Erica Lawrence, with musical direction from Dominic Haslam and choreography by Tony Aiken.

The cast is comprised of 76 students, aged 10 to 18, from the UK, the US, South Africa, Malta, Spain and Ireland.
