A service to commemorate the start of the First World War is being held in Chingford on Monday.
Conservative councillor for Hatch Lane, Geoff Walker, has organised the candlelit vigil in conjunction with the British Legion and Christian churches across Chingford.
It will take place in south Chingford town square in Albert Crescent from 10pm and will coincide with the national 'Lights Out' campaign and service at Westminster Abbey.
A host of events are being held across the borough from Monday to mark 100 years since the start of the war.
During the Chingford service, drums will be laid by the Epping Forest Pipe Band and wreaths will be laid by officers from Waltham Forest police.
