A fire ripped through a takeaway and flats above in Leyton this morning.
Twenty-one firefighters attended the scene of the fire in High Road, Leyton, next door to the Tesco superstore near Bakers Arms, at around 2:20am this morning.
Crews from Leyton, Leytonstone and Walthamstow used a ladder to rescue a man from the window of a first floor flat above Kebabish Original.
He was treated by ambulance services for smoke inhalation and taken to an east London hospital.
Three other people escaped before the arrival of the Brigade.
Around half of the ground floor shop and part of the flat above were damaged in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently being investigated.
It was under control approximately an hour later at 3:30am.
