Glenn Wallis is a long-serving rail campaigner and is speaking out about public transport in Waltham Forest.

As secretary of the Barking to Gospel Oak Rail User Group (BGORUG), Mr Wallis has fought for many years to improve services on the overground line, due to be electrified in 2017.

He says the number of users has 'gone through the roof' in recent years and due to vast improvements on the trains and at platforms, capacity and demand has outstripped the current services.

Can we get a discount for a train set if we join?

I always wanted one in my loft but currently reside in a bed in shed residence in the Village of Walthamstow, which, although cosy, is a tad cramped.

I for one will certainly join, count my fiver in for a start.

It would be nice to have a fundraiser for this iconic cause and maybe a paste table pitch at this weekend 's events at Llloyd Park would be an ideal opportunity. I will be in attendance selling products.

The original estimates proved too low, I think the Council has had to put in another £5m to cover shortfall on platforms and footbridge. Also Japanese Knotweed has to be removed. Latest opening date now December 2015.

Ooops! BGORUG membership is only £5.00 per YEAR, not per month! Mind you we could do with the cash, printing passenger newsletters does not come cheap!
