A bright orange motorbike was stolen and another almost taken in two possibly linked crimes.

Police in Potters Bar are now appealing for witnesses to both incidents, which they believe are linked.

A Pulse XF 125 GY-2B Adrenaline bike was taken from Mutton Lane, near the Strafford Arms Pub, between 5pm on July 17 and 11pm on July 18.

The bike is bright orange, has no stickers on it, has missing mirrors and a faulty rear wheel.

At 11.30pm on July 18 suspects attempted to steal a Triumph Tiger bike from Gregory Avenue, which they left in the middle of the road when they failed to take it.

PC Paul Francis from the Potters Bar Safer Neighbourhood Team is investigating and said: “We believe these two incidents may be linked and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about either to contact police.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the orange bike for sale or who may have been offered it for sale.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PC Francis on 101 quoting J3/14/679.
