A petition with more than 2,200 signatures calling for a halt to changes at a cemetery will be discussed this evening.
For the past month mourners with loved ones buried in the Harrow plots at Carpenders Park Cemetery have been collecting the signatures against the site becoming a lawn cemetery.
The site is run by Brent Borough Council and in 2007 Harrow Borough Council opened a section of the graveyard for Harrow residents.
In June relatives found staff removing crosses, flowers and photographers from the graves of their loved ones.
Tonight at a Harrow council’s full council meeting the families and campaigners will present the petition calling on the authority to put pressure on Brent council and stop the changes.
