A four-time triathlon champion has had her 2011 world-beating bike stolen.

Ironman veteran Chrissie Wellington, 37, said her Cannondale Slice was taken at the weekend from an office in Oakcroft Road, Chessington.

She said: "It's got huge sentimental value. I tend to like to keep many of the things I compete in or on.

"This one is really special to me. This was the race I was most proud of.

"He basically walked it out of the office block and rode away on it."

The black-and-white time trial bike has Shimano components and electronic gears, and a small but distinctive hibiscus flower stuck to the frame.

Ms Wellington won the Ironman world championship in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011, and was made an MBE in 2010.
