Artistic and creative residents are invited to submit their self portraits as part of a competition launched by Elmbridge Council

The contest, called me, myself and I, invites entrants to use a variety of media including photography, painting, printmaking and sculpture to create a depiction of themselves.

Winning entries will be exhibited at the Riverhouse Barn, Walton, in January 2015.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: "This year’s competition invites you to use self-portraiture to showcase your skills using either a specific medium or a range of mixed media to explore your identity and personality.

"You can use the creative approach and style you like and make your work as figurative as you wish, so that it tells us something about you."

The competition is open to anyone living or working in the borough, with four age categories; seven to 11, 11 to 14, 15 to 18 and 19 plus.

The competition closes on Wednesday, October 29.
