Pupils donned robes and mortarboards as they finished their first year at school.

John Keats ARK academy, in Eastfield Road, Enfield, celebrated its first year as a school with a graduation of its first pupils.

The free school, which opened in September 2013, will offer both primary and secondary education and will welcome its first 180 Year 7 pupils in September this year.

Headteacher Jerry Collins was delighted about his first year in charge at the new school.

He said: “It was wonderful to see our pupils graduate at the end of Reception year and to celebrate our first year as a school.

“It has been an fantastic first year with pupils making exceptional progress and developing as confident and ambitious young learners.

“Parents are incredibly supportive of the school and we all believe we are building something truly special at ARK John Keats. We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new primary and secondary pupils in September.”

The school is currently undergoing a major reconstruction from the old Albany school, which used to sit on the grounds.
