A total of 177 new homes will be built as part of a wider regeneration scheme.

Barnet councillors joined representatives of developer St George Central London at Beaufort Park, in Colindale.

The new homes will follow 617 which have already been built, and are expected to be completed by summer 2016.

And where is the infrastructure to support all these new developments? New schools? New GP surgeries? Improved roads? Better parking facilities?

And what about new bus services? When the existing Beaufort Park homes were being built, we were assured that the development would be served by a new bus route, but in the end TfL just diverted the 186 route so that it now takes even longer to get to Brent Cross and no longer serves people who live on or near the two-mile stretch of Watford Way between Mill Hill Circus and Greyhound Hill.

The 113 bus goes from Mill Hill Circus to Brent Cross.

However, besides these new developments at Beaufort Park, there are the new developments being built on part of the Police Training College opposite. There is also the developments in Colindale Avenue around the tube station. On the Edgware Road there are developments opposite Asda and further down towards Colindeep Lane. Plus the regeneration of Grahame Park.

Will the former Chinese supermarkets along from Asda, become another housing development?

Don't move ... you will lose your standing space !

I am sure that as and when these developments are completed, TfL will review the current transport requirements and add bus services as required

the Oriental City site (in Brent) is also to be housing. London's population growth necessitates these developments

@nlygo: Colindale's housing growth necessitates infrastructure growth really. Not developers building and leaving for congestion and no laid plans to accommodate the extra population with no new GP Surgeries, Schools, Community areas.

Perhaps we should wait and see what the planning proposals/applicatio
n set out - I am confident they will provide for more schools/transport etc.

Are you actually paid by Barnet Tories of do they have some strange hold over you?

Section 106 or CIL can surely be used to deliver said infrastructure? I think the council should be held to account and make the developers contribute appropriately to required infrastructure; something I am sure they are well aware of.

I maybe educated, but am unaware of what Section 106 or CIL are!

Google Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) which has replaced the section 106 developer contributions used to deliver related infrastructure on new developments. Happy reading!
