Kent Police is appealing for help to find a woman who has been reported as missing from Gravesend.

Jane Sylvia Dale, 40, left her home address in Maritime Gate on Sunday (July 13) at around 3.30pm to travel to Croydon by car. She was last seen in Purley, Croydon, at around 5.45pm.

Miss Dale's silver Ford Focus was found locked and empty in a remote country lane in Norheads Lane, Biggin Hill. It is believed to have been parked there from around 7pm on Sunday.

She was reported missing at 4.30pm on Monday (July 14) following growing concerns for her welfare.

She has links to the Croydon area.

Miss Dale is described as a white woman, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build, with dark brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes.

She is believed to have been wearing blue Adidas trainers, knee length denim jean shorts, a blue/grey zip up jacket and had a black top or short sleeved white top underneath, and might have been wearing glasses.

Detective Inspector Ivan Beasley, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "It is out of character for Jane to go missing and her family are very concerned for her welfare.

"We have specialised teams searching for Jane but would urge anybody with any information or anyone who has seen her to call us on 101, quoting reference 14-1119.

"Even information that may seem insignificant can provide us with a valuable lead so please come forward."
