Three people have been ordered to pay more than £1,000 for misusing a disabled parking badge.

June Gregori, 63, of Maybury Close, in Enfield Wash; Orhan Kilinchan, 55, of Avenue Road, in Southgate; and Ibrahim Dogan, 66, of Wosley Road, in Enfield, were all fined for using a disabled blue badge without the badge holder present.

The trio were ordered to pay £1,450 in costs, fines and surcharges following a hearing at Tottenham Magistrates Court earlier this month.

Gregori was found guilty in her absence and fined £200. Kilichan and Dogan pleaded guilty and were both given a 12-month conditional discharge on the condition they do not commit another offence.

Enfield Council's cabinet member for community safety, Councillor Chris Bond, said: "Misusing a person’s blue badge is an awful and completely unacceptable act.

"Blue badges are designed to make life easier for chronically ill and disabled people, they don’t exist for others to con people and park wherever they like completely free of charge.

"I advise anyone attempting to commit this type of fraud to think about the consequences of their actions."
