Hundreds of families, couples, and friends soaked up the sun as they assembled on a village green over the weekend.
Highams Park Day, now in its sixth year, was organised by community forum group, the Highams Park Society and took place on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
Children eating ice creams and having their face-painted were kept entertained throughout the day as they took part in a series of traditional and sporting fairground games.
At temperatures soared as high as 25c, families sought cover in shaded areas of stalls and tents on Vincent Green in Highams Park.
The sumo-wrestling in inflatable suits was particular popular among boys and girls as they rammed into one another, laughing and giggling all the same.
Fresh food was put on by Grace & Albert cookshop, based in Hale End Road, and Shaws Quality Butchers in Station Road, Chingford.
