Volunteers helped banish invaders from a popular Cheam park.
Canadian goldenrod is an invasive species of weed that smothers native plants and quickly takes over areas where it grows.
Warren Farm, to the south of Nonsuch Park in Cheam, is badly affected by goldenrod and volunteers have to pull the weeds out by hand every year.
Volunteers converged on the park on Saturday and removed hundreds of plants from the meadow meaning indigenous wild flowers will continue to flourish in the area.
