A body that enforces police standards has charged an officer with misconduct.
Detective Sergeant Robert Dawson, 48, of the Metropolitan Police's specialist crime and operations department, is due to appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court on 25 July charged with misconduct in public office.
The charges have been brought by the force's professional standards directorate, which is responsible for investigating complaints against the professional conduct of policemen and women.
The Met has not released details of the allegations against Det Sgt Dawson "so as not to prejudice upcoming criminal proceedings".
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is supervising the investigation.
