Five men have been arrested after a woman and her baby were injured when they were hit by a car following a collision in Finsbury Park.

Police were called to Green Lanes, at the junction with Hermitage Road, at 8pm last night following reports of a collision involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa and a yellow Seat Ibiza.

Following the collision the Corsa mounted a pavement, hitting a woman and her eight-month-old baby in a pram.

The mother and baby were both taken to a hospital where they remain with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Seat Ibiza left the scene but was later found in the Hackney area, where the driver and two passengers were arrested.

The Corsa remained at the scene and both the driver and a male passenger were arrested.

All those who have been arrested remain in custody at a north London police station.
