Young fans of kids TV strand Milkshake now have the chance to see their favourite characters and presenters on stage.

Milkshake, Channel 5’s programming block for children, has been turned into a stage show Party Party which will arrive at Epsom Playhouse next month.

Its line-up includes stars from TV shows Bananas in Pyjamas, Little Princess, Pip Ahoy!, Jelly Jamm, Chloe’s Closet, Tickety Toc and Toby’s Travelling Circus.

There is also guaranteed to be two Milkshake presenters, including either Jen Pringle, Derek Moran, Amy Thompson or Olivia Birchenough.

Jen says: "I absolutely love the buzz from a live performance! It’s so nice to see the children’s faces light up when they see their favourite characters right there in front of them, and it’s even better to see them joining in with all the songs and dances! "It’s also great to travel around the country to actually meet the viewers who watch us most mornings."

In the theatre show, the presenters need the audience’s help to find Milkshake Money in time for his surprise birthday party.

Jen says: "Milkshake Monkey thinks that we have forgotten that it’s his birthday, but in fact, we are all planning to surprise him with a huge party!

"Each character has a special party job to do. For instance bake the cake, organise the music and chose the outfits. We all need to work together to give monkey the best party ever! But will he turn up in time?!"

The show is billed as a "musical extravaganza" with classic and new Milkshake songs, children’s favourites and well-known hits.

Jessica Symons, head of children’s programmes at Channel 5, says: "I'm delighted to be introducing our young audience to some fantastic new characters, who are making their theatre debut, as well as bringing back onto stage a number of firm favourites, plus our amazingly talented Milkshake presenters.

"The Milkshake stage show is full of excellent music, as well as fun audience interaction and it is a real privilege to be offering, what can sometimes be a wonderful first introduction to the theatre."

Party Party is produced by Clair Robinson and directed by Derek Moran. Channel 5’s Milkshake is home to preschool characters and has a selection of children’s programmes every day.
