THE Greenwood Hotel in Whitton Avenue West, Northolt, is to become a Wetherspoon’s.

The Grade Two listed hotel was sold this week to pub chain J D Wetherspoon for £2m.

Will Thomas, of chartered surveyors Fleurets, who were involved in the sale, said there had been a great deal of interest in the site, largely from developers and store operators.

He added, however: “It is reassuring that the property will remain a public house.

" I look forward to seeing what Wetherspoon’s will do with it now as they are creating some exciting new pubs and hotels which are very different to the historic model they have been so well known for.”

The Greenwood, which had been partly refurbished, has not traded for a number of years. It has 11 en-suite rooms, large bar area and double-height ballroom.
