A 29-year-old man charged with attempted murder has been released on bail.
James Armour was arrested and charged after Seth Adu, 26, was found lying on the ground with a serious head injury in Montrose Gardens, Mitcham.
London Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 7.24pm on Saturday, June 14 and took Mr Adu to hosptial in a critical condition.
A police spokesman said Mr Adu remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Mr Armour, of London Road, Mitcham, appeared in Kingston Crown Court charged with attempted murder on Monday.
He has been released on bail to return to court on Monday, September 22.
