Families are set to descend on a park for fairground rides, games and a school carnival at the annual Roxeth Show.

The annual event, sponsored by the Harrow Times, will take place at Roxeth Recreation Ground in South Harrow on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 5pm.

The free two-day show is organised by the Harrow and Pinner Lions and volunteers are putting the final bits and pieces together for the festivities.

There will be a funfair, the HA2CANDO Children's Carnival, games and stalls from community groups, charities and businesses and on Sunday there will be a dog show run by the RSPCA.

Organiser Tony Hurley said: "Things have really picked up for the weekend and we are just getting the last bits and pieces ready.

"We've had a great response but there are still spaces if anyone wants to book a pitch for the day.

"We're all looking forward to show and just hope the weather clears up for the weekend."

Despite it being the World Cup final weekend, organisers hope people will be out to enjoy the show before the game in the evening.

The show first took place in 1979 and was organised by South Harrow and Roxeth Ratepayers Association.

Since then thousands of people from across the borough have enjoyed the annual event.

Those interested in having a stall at this year's Roxeth Show can book a pitch by going to www.roxethshow.co.uk or by emailing info@roxethshow.co.uk
