A school due to celebrate its 75th anniversary is looking to find its oldest former pupil to help mark the historic milestone.

Grimsdyke School, in Sylvia Avenue was founded in 1939 just before the outbreak of World War II and will be holding a series of events to celebrate its anniversary in September this year.

In the build up the school is trying to find its oldest former pupil, who may have been started at the school when it first opened in 1939.

The oldest person to get in contact with staff will win a free ticket to the school’s dinner and dance event The Grange, in Northwood, on Friday September 26.

Other events planned include a reunion of pupils and staff, past and present plus and exhibition in the school’s hall, on Thursday, September 25.

And finally on Sunday September 28 there will be a history evening the Great Hall in Hatch End High School, which will include a choir performance of songs from the first and second world wars.
