Twenty-five bus services are set to be affected by the Tour de France road closures this afternoon as Waltham Forest prepares to welcome one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

This morning the Waterworks roundabout including the slip roads on and off the A406 closed at 9am to allow for the route to be prepared.

In the next twenty minutes Woodford New Road, Lea Bridge Road, Orient Way and Ruckholt Road (to the borough boundary) will close to vehicles.

A number of adjoining roads will also be close for access.

Due to the road closures the following bus services will be affected: 20, 48, 55, 56, 58, 69, 97, 123, 158, 179, 212, 230, 257, 275, 308, 357, 375, 397, 444, W12, W13, W14, W15, W16, and W19. Changes to local bus services will be advertised at local bus stops and on the TfL website.

No closures are expected on the Victoria or Central lines, however delays could occur due to an increased number of visitors to the borough.

The most famous cyclists in the world will come through the borough at around 2.30pm but roads will remain closed until 6pm due to other vehicles associated with the tour passing through.
