Greenwich’s latest residents include an owl, cow, frog, pig and Shire horse who help form an animal trail around the town centre.

There are 32 sculptures dotted around to animate the centre’s streets as part of free arts exhibition Corelli’s Creature Carnival.

Kidbrooke’s Corelli College students, as well as youngsters from primary schools across the borough, have worked with artists to create the four-week exhibition.

It was launched on Tuesday (July 1) with the animals all aboard iconic tea clipper the Cutty Sark.

Corelli College arts college manager Shermaine Slocombe said: “Kidbrooke was a farming community until the 1930s and with our Farm Academy status it makes sense for our students to look at British animals. “Animal welfare and wellbeing is a big part of what we do, so this summer get involved by coming to our trail.”

The sculptures will be auctioned in the autumn to raise money for the college and an animal charity.
