Police in Waltham Forest have released a CCTV image of a suspected burglar.

Suspect 150817 is accused of burglary by distraction at Vicarage Road, Leyton, on June 4 at 3:25pm.

He allegedly posed as a builder to gain entry to an 87 year-old woman's home by claiming to need access to pipe work in the garden.

During his visit last month, nothing was stolen from the elderly victim's home as she refused entry.

The CCTV images have been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify potential perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.

Anyone with information should contact Waltham Forest police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
