A celebration of sport and culture was enjoyed by children and adults alike at Leisure Live at Churchfields Recreation Ground.

Not deterred by the rain, hundreds of visitors enjoyed a range of activities and performances by singers, dance and theatre schools at the Weybridge space.

Among the activities on offer on Saturday, June 28, were face painting, arts and crafts and a giant slide and bouncy castle.

Sport also played a prominent role in the day, with the Weybridge Rowing Club setting a challenge and parents and children tried their hand at touchtennis.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: "It was a pleasure to see that many visitors had not been deterred by the rain and still took part in many activities.

"There was some really promising talent on display on stage and the touchtennis tournament was a great addition to the event this year."

A flowerbed created by a St Andrew’s School pupil was also unveiled by the mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Barry Fairbank.
