A mother of five from Chessington will fill the next year with a range of tough challenges to raise money for Harrison’s Fund.
Heidi Sedgeman, 52, decided to raise money for the Cobham charity, set up by parent Alex Smith, after enduring a rough start to 2014.
Since pledging her support to the charity, Ms Sedgeman has completed a half marathon up and down the Surrey hills and will soon complete an off road 10km race, the Ride London cycle race, a tough mudder, the mighty deer stalker and many more.
The final challenge will be a ride from Rome to home, which take place in April and May next year.
Ms Sedgeman said: "The first challenge was tough as it was quite a warm day but I am glad that it is over and I have finally started the year long efforts.
"It might sound crazy but I am quite excited. One down, 11 to go."
Alex Smith, founder of Harrison’s Fund, said: "After everything that Heidi has been through, it is amazing that she can so selfless and want to spend her time fundraising for Harrison’s Fund - I am truly in awe of her efforts."
Harrison’s Fund is named after seven-year-old Harrison Smith who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The charity aims to get as much money as possible to researchers who are working to find a cure for Duchenne.
