Strawberries and cream, a visit from the mayor and a party marked the twentieth anniversary at a Colliers Wood care home.
Sanctuary Home Care’s Trellis House in Mill Road, marked two decades since its opening with the birthday party and an unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
Golden oldies singer Annie Riley was on hand to perform hits from days gone by, and a buffet complete with strawberries and cream and a birthday cake was served to residents at the event on Friday, June 27.
It was attended by the mayor of Merton, Councillor Agatha Akyigyina.
Trellis House head of housing and support Beverley Tomkins said: "This is a fantastic milestone to reach in the history of Trellis House.
"Our dedicated activities co-ordinator Jenny McPaul has pulled together a fascinating history of Trellis House, which shows how events at the scheme have shaped it over the years.
"We’re also very honoured to be joined on this occasion by Coun Akyigyina."
Trellis House Extra Care provides accommodation for older people over the age of 60 in the form of en-suite apartments with communal areas to socialise in.
