Fifteen firefighters were called to help after a car ploughed into the front of a Charlton cafe today.

Emergency services are still on the scene in Woolwich Road after the car went through a bollard and into the front of Peter's Cafe.

This Is Local London:

The brigade initially received reports that a car and lorry were involved in the accident.

They have requested a borough surveyor to check the building out while police and the ambulance service have also been called.

The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries to his arm and there are reports a gas meter may have been hit.

More to follow.
