A school pupil was one of four from across London to win an arts competition celebrating the Tour de France's return to the capital.

Lottie Short from Harrow was crowned joint winner of the contest run by Transport for London after being selected by Disney Art Attack presenter Lloyd Warbey.

Pupils across London were given the task of coming up with designs for a banner, jersey and poster and creating cycling-inspired art, which will be displayed at City Hall this summer.

Mr Warbey said: “The quality of submissions was fantastic and I had a hard time selecting the winners.

“All the entries really show how excited London’s school children are for the Tour."

The Tour de France will be coming to the capital on July 7, two days after it starts in Yorkshire, when 200 cyclists will make their way through Essex, into London before finishing on The Mall.
