A shopping centre is set to get a facelift after a planning application was given the go-ahead.
The main entrance to The Spires Shopping Centre in High Barnet will be refurbished in autumn.
The rotunda over the entrance will be removed to create a more open gateway to the shopping centre, and one of the front units will be taken over by Italian restaurant Carluccio's.
New stone paving will be placed between the High Street entrance and the first courtyard, and permission has also been secured to convert the former gym on the first floor into either shops, offices or a restaurant.
A spokesman for The Spires said: "We found the feedback given to us by the public to be extremely useful and it helped to inform our final submission to the council. We are pleased we can now take these plans forward and look forward to creating a modern and revitalised community shopping centre.
"We are committed to improving the retail and leisure offer for the local community and believe the refurbishment work will help us attract exciting new retailers and restaurants to Barnet."
