With the countdown to the school summer holidays beginning, Shout! activities schemes are on hand again to keep children happy.

From week-long sports courses to messy arts and crafts days, there is something on offer to suit all ages, abilities and interests.

In addition to the much-loved schemes and courses, including cooking, outdoor adventures and dance, a new sports and arts course will take place this summer for children who want to show off their creative side at the same time as improving their sporting skills.

Riding on the success of last summer’s tots workshops, activities for younger children including totstennis and tennis4fun return again alongside a new cycling skills workshop for children aged four and above.

Youngsters who like to share fun activities with their favourite teddy bear will be treated to a free teddy bears' picnic in Hersham on Wednesday, July 30.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, says: "What better way for your children to enjoy their summer holiday than the summer Shout! activities. With so much on offer, there is something for every child.

"Shout! holiday activities open the door to new exciting experiences where children learn great life skills and build their confidence, while having lots of fun."

If that was not enough to keep your children busy this summer, Play Day, the annual celebration of play, returns to the borough on Wednesday, August 6, with lots of free activities for children and their parents at Hurst Recreation Ground.
