A Belgian themed exhibition will come to Waltham Forest in July to give residents the chance to discover what life was like in the country at the outbreak of the First World War.
An after-hours celebration of Belgium’s art, culture, food and drink will be held at the William Morris Gallery.
The free event will feature classic and contemporary Belgian music, a lacemaking demonstration and The Gallery bar will be open all evening.
Cllr Chris Robbins, Leader of the Council said that the exhibition will celebrate Belgium whilst highlighting the journey of its people who fled for the UK 100 years ago.
The event will be held on July 3 from 6.30pm.
At present the gallery is displaying Help is better than sympathy, an exhibition of First World War posters by Belgium-born artist Frank Brangwyn.
