An award winning garden designer put down his spades and shovels to sample fresh produce at Garsons Food Fair.

The annual food fair at the Esher farm shop was opened by 21-year-old Jack Dunckley, who took a break from preparing his garden for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show to enjoy some of the best locally produced foods.

Mr Dunckley, who is striving to be the youngest ever gold medal winner at this year's show, has already won a silver gilt medal at the Hampton Court and Chelsea flower shows and was described by the Royal Horticultural Society as an "investment for the future".

The food fair, which took place on Saturday, June 14, included a mix of stalls including artisan and locally produced goods, with food loving visitors able to sample the delights on offer.

Nigel Chandler, Garsons farm shop manager, said: "We were lucky to have Jack open the fair. His talents as a garden designer are a perfect fit with our customers, many of whom love gardens and gardening.

"It really created an added buzz to the opening. It was a great atmosphere and a fantastic weekend."
