A pharmacy will be offering free advice to the Muslim community during the month of Ramadan.

The Co-operative Pharmacy, in Church Lane, Kingsbury, will be giving the new pocket-sized guide to help people have a healthy Ramadan.

Although Muslims who are ill can be exempted from fasting, many continue to observe the fast, meaning medicines may not be taken at the correct time intervals or taken at all.

Staff will be able to help patients who may need to change the times they need to take their medicine.

The month of fasting for the Muslim community will start on June 28 and end on July 27.

This is commendable since it is a simple but effective way of giving practical advice and preventing diabetes patients from suffering unnecessarily during this special period of fasting. One can appreciate the intense feelings of those who wish to follow their religious practice and feel part of the whole.

Hope more pharmacies consider following this example since it will prevent some serious health implications developing from lack of care.

How exactly is this benefiting the Harrow community? Would be nice to see us praising groups helping others regardless of background, not encouraging it. Some people are so hypocritical here.

Are Muslims not part of the Harrow community? Or are you another overzealous Islamaphobe starting with the ‘them’ vs ‘us’ nonsense. There are many initiatives throughout the Borough of Harrow that help people regardless of background. All religions are equally represented in Harrow. So what is your problem with a Pharmacy wanting to ensure that people do not die during one of the most difficult months of the year for us, where we will be fasting for almost 20 hours in the scorching heat? Do you hate us that much?

Best to ignore blatantly racist comments and concentrate of getting others to join in such useful initiatives.,which not only help save lives but also save the National Health Service and allied groups a ton of tax-payer pounds.

Many pharmacies are already doing similar work to alert ALL our communities on specific issues such as DIABETES,HEART PROBLEMS,MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES,DISABILITY,CA
NCER DEMENTIA and many,many more.

I humbly advise readers to pray for those who only love themselves and go out of their way to put everybody else down.Send them positive vibes.

Skhan13 - I simply pointed out that the article states it benefits in the Harrow community, when it only benefits the Muslim community. How are we going to get different communities to mix if they only encourage segregation by just focusing on issues which revolve around their own people? Before you start about Islamaphobia, spare a thought for the Christians being slaughtered and REALLY discriminated against in the Muslim world and don't play the victim.
