Foodbank volunteers pulled on their wellies as they teamed up with Cancer Research UK supporters to collect donations.

Children and families lined up at the Little Legs for Life event at Esher Rugby Club on Saturday, June 14, to make donations to the Walton and Hersham foodbank.

The volunteer-run foodbanks, which run from St Peter’s Chuch, Hersham, and St John’s Church, Walton, supply emergency three-day food parcels to families and individuals experiencing a crisis.

Pam Sacre, foodbank volunteer, said: "It was lovely to see children bring their tins of food with happy, smiling faces, knowing that they are helping other families in the community."

The foodbanks are holding a further collection at Waitrose, Hersham, on Saturday, June 28, from 10am to 3pm.
